He was among the selected Palestinian Quran memorizers in the coastal enclave.

He was also a young imam who led prayers, according to the Palestinian Information Center.

Yusuf was a student of dentistry at a medical university in the Gaza Strip.

He had a good character and was a popular figure among his neighbors, fellow students and friends.
