IQNA – In Islam, especially in the Seerah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), there is a lot of emphasis on tidiness and being neat and smart in appearance.

Saying prayers

One of the meanings of order is being neat and tidy. One of the signs of people who attach importance to order is that they are tidy and neat. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said God is beautiful and loves beauty and loves to see the effects of His blessings on His servants (people).

It has also been narrated from the Prophet (PBUH) that God does not like a dirty and smelly person.

The Holy Quran, in Verse 32 of Surah Al-Aaraf, points to the importance of using adornments:

“Say: ‘Who has prohibited the embellishment of Allah which He has brought forth for His servants and the good provisions?’ Say: ‘These are for the believers in the life of this world, purely (theirs) on the Resurrection Day; thus do We make the communications clear for a people who know.”

According to this verse, unbelievers can also benefit from adornments in this world but in on the Day of Resurrection, they will be for believers only.

In Verse 31 of this Surah, God orders people to “take your adornment at every place of prayer”.

So it is recommended that people have adornments and be neat and tidy in society, in interaction with others, and especially in mosques and during prayers because at the time of Salah, one is praying to the most beautiful one (God).

Tidiness in mosques also encourages others and creates calm and attractiveness. Of course, it should not be to the extent that it causes the poor to sigh or harms others.

Another point is that adornment in these verses may refer to both physical ones and spiritual ones such pure intention and good manners.
