IQNA – A Malaysian politician underscored the importance of following the Seerah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) for the Muslim Ummah to achieve unity.

Abdul Hadi Awang, head of the Islamic Party of Malaysia (Parti Islam Se-Malaysia)

Speaking to IQNA, Abdul Hadi Awang, head of the Islamic Party of Malaysia (Parti Islam Se-Malaysia), said the Seerah of the last messenger of God must be the compass for the Muslim Ummah and a charter that all Muslims must follow.

By following this Seerah, Muslims can set aside their differences and get united against the enemies, he stated.

The Prophet (PBUH) would always strive to spread fraternity among Muslims and believers and that is what Muslims, that is his followers, must also do, he said.

He added the Islamic Ummah has a responsibility that began after the demise of the Prophet (PBUH) and will not end until the Day of Judgment and that responsibility is striving to be a role model in the world.

Awang, who is a member of the Supreme Council of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, also said that creating division and discord among Muslims is a plot hatched by the colonizers to undermine the Islamic Ummah as they don’t want Islam to dominate the earth.

Islam is the only ideology that saves humanity and prevent the decline of humanity and moral collapse, he said.

The verses of the Quran tell us that the deceptions and plots of the enemies against Islam never end, he stated, underlining the need to strengthen unity against these plots.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he referred to the issue of Palestine and said the presence of a Zionist regime in the Islamic land of Palestine is Haram (forbidden).

Awang added that occupation of Palestine is not just usurping a land but the usurpation and colonization of thought.

The issue of Palestine is one not just related to Arabs but it is an issue for the whole Muslim world, he underscored.
