IQNA – A senior scholar from Afghanistan said the era of Muslims’ grandeur will be revived if they follow the teachings of the Holy Quran and the Seerah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

Afghan scholar Mawlawi Abdul Rauf Tavana speaking to IQNA on the sidelines of the 38th International Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran.

Mawlawi Abdul Rauf Tavana made the remark in an interview with IQNA on the sidelines of the 38th International Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran.

He said with a return to the Quran and the teachings of Islam as introduced by the Holy Prophet (PBUH), the Muslim Ummah will become honored as the Quran says (in Verse 8 of Surah Al-Manafiqun), “Honor belongs to God, His Messenger and the believers, but the hypocrites do not know.”

He also cited Verse 92 of Surah Al-Anbiya, “Indeed, this nation of yours is one nation, and I am Your Lord, therefore worship Me”, reiterating the importance of unity in the Muslim world, especially under the current circumstances in the region, including the Israeli regime’s crimes in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.

Now that the front of Kufr (disbelief) is in confrontation with the front of the truth, the main concern of the enemy is to sow the seeds of discord and disunity among Muslims, he said.

In these conditions, when Muslim scholars of different denominations from Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas gather together in this conference and unanimously voice support for Palestine, the outcome of the conference would certainly benefit the Islamic Ummah, Tavana stated.

The very gathering of scholars from 40 countries in this conference is an achievement for the Islamic resistance front and will hopefully strengthen the Muslim world’s resolve to defend Palestine.

Hundreds of Shia and Sunni scholars attended the 38th Islamic Unity Conference held by World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought in the Iranian capital Tehran on September 19-21.

They exchanged views on the latest developments in the world of Islam, with the issue of Palestine remaining as the focal point of the debates.
