IQNA – The Iranian Foreign Ministry’s spokesman said the Zionist regime does not deserve to be present in international organization, including the UN.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei

Speaking at a press conference in Tehran on Monday, Esmaeil Baghaei said the Israeli regime has no belief in the principles and goals of the United Nations, the international norms and laws, and peaceful coexistence in the international community.

The regime has basically been created by aggression against a nation and usurpation of its land, he said.

So such an entity is basically unworthy of being present in international bodies, specifically the United Nations, he stated.

Baghaei referred to the initiatives taken at the level of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to oppose the Israeli presence at the UN and said it shows that the international community has come to the conclusion that such a regime is not worthy of being a member of the UN.

He also noted that the UN Special Rapporteur on human rights has called on the member states to unanimously demand the Zionist regime’s membership to be revoked.

He said Iran welcomes countries’ joining the campaign for revoking the Israeli regime’s UN membership.

Baghaei also referred to the Israeli crimes and atrocities in Palestine and Lebanon and said one thing that contributes to the spread of the scope of international crimes is the certainty that the crimes will go unpunished.

This is while the international community has sought, at least since the end of World War II, to ensure that heinous crimes like genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity will not remain unpunished, he went on to say.

Unfortunately, he deplored, the Zionist regime has continued its crimes over the past year knowing that the United States and some European countries will impede the implementation of justice.
