Motto of Itikaf Rituals Unveiled

IQNA – The motto of the Itikaf ceremonies that will be held early next year was unveiled in a ceremony in Iran’s holy city of Qom.

A ceremony was held in Qom, Iran, on November 28, 2024, to announce “Itikaf, Spirituality and Resistance” as the motto selected for the Itikaf rituals.

 

“Itikaf, Spirituality and Resistance”, is the motto selected for the Itikaf rituals. 

The unveiling ceremony was held Thursday at the Jamkaran Mosque with the participation of a number of religious officials and seminary scholars.

It was addressed by Hojat-ol-Islam Abdollah Hajisadeqi, representative of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution in the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), Hezbollah’s representative in Iran Moin Daqiq, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution Hojat-ol-Islam Abdol Hossein Khosropanah, and Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) World Assembly Secretary General Ayatollah Ramezani.

Itikaf is a tradition of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his family, and is regarded as a highly rewarding act of worship in Islam.

It is usually performed on the 13th, 14th, and 15th of Rajab, the seventh month of the Islamic calendar, which will fall on January 14-16 in 2025.
