Tehran, Riyadh Sign Hajj MoU

IQNA – Top Iranian and Saudi Hajj officials signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage.

Ali Reza Bayat, the head of Iran’s Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, and Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Hajj and Umrah Tawfiq Al-Rabiah signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage during a meeting in Riyadh.

 

Ali Reza Bayat, the head of Iran’s Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, held talks with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Hajj and Umrah Tawfiq Al-Rabiah in Riyadh.

The two sides discussed issues related to the Iranian Hajj and Umrah pilgrims, according to the website of the organization.

They also talked about the Hajj operation, air and land travels of pilgrims, health issues and cultural topics.

The parties also discussed topics related to the 2025 Hajj and Umrah trips, including airline flights, enhancements in service delivery, increasing the quota for Iranian pilgrims in the upcoming Hajj, boosting the number of departures for Umrah, and honoring Iranian pilgrims.

The Iranian official thanked the Saudi side for the services provided to pilgrims.

At the end of the meeting, Bayat and Al-Rabiah signed the MoU on the 2025 Hajj.

Hajj is a pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca that every able-bodied and financially able Muslim is obliged to undertake at least once during their lifetime.

The annual pilgrimage is regarded as one of the pillars of Islam and the largest act of mass pilgrimage in the world. It is also a demonstration of Muslims’ unity and their submission to Allah.
