“We congratulate the Palestinian people and the resistance on the ceasefire agreement, which reflects the steadfastness and resilience of the resistance. The resistance achieved its goals, while the enemy failed to accomplish its objectives,” Sheikh Naim Qassem said on Saturday.

History will record Gaza's role in sacrifice and in defeating the Israeli enemy’s schemes, said Qassem, adding that internal divisions within the Israeli regime are growing, and the only solution is for Palestine to be returned to its rightful owners.
Sheikh Naim Qassem also expressed his respect and gratitude to Yemen and its resilient people for their support of Palestine, as well as to Iraq, including its religious authorities, people, and the Popular Mobilization Forces, for their backing of Palestine.
Hezbollah’s confrontation with the Israeli regime in Lebanon contributed to Gaza’s victory, he said, adding, “The Lebanese resistance will remain steadfast in countering the projects of the U.S. and the Israeli regime.”

Qatar announced on Wednesday that Israel and the Palestinian Hamas resistance group had agreed to a ceasefire.
The truce is expected to come into effect on January 19 and includes three phases, each of which will last 42 days.
The first phase will see the release of about 1,000 Palestinian abductees, including those with lengthy sentences, in exchange for 33 Israeli captives held in Gaza. It also requires Israeli occupation forces to begin withdrawing from the Philadelphi corridor - also known as the Salah al-Din axis - on the Gaza-Egypt border.
