IQNA – The head of Iran’s Judiciary said the Zionist regime gave in to the truce with Hamas out of weakness and desperation.

Iranian Judiciary Chief Hojat-ol-Islam Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejei

This is one of the honors of the resistance front, Hojat-ol-Islam Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejei said, addressing the 13th “Gaza; Symbol of Resistance” conference in Tehran.

He paid tribute to the martyrs of resistance, especially those in Gaza, Palestine, Lebanon and Yemen.

Divine promises are now clearer and more understandable, and the divine verses have gained a more obvious meaning for all levels of humanity today, he stated.

“We witnessed how those who strive on the path of God, standing firm and facing challenges along the way, emerged victorious and honored,” he said.

Noting that the Zionist regime has been committing crimes with support from the US, the UK and other Western governments for over 75 years, he said the Palestinian nation has stood against the regime and all its supporters for more than seven decades.

Today, the divine promise has been fulfilled and the noble people of the world have two duties, Hojat-ol-Islam Mohseni Ejei said.

“One (duty) is to expose the crimes committed by the Israeli regime and its backers and the other is to support the oppressed and mighty nation (of Palestine).”

He hailed the ceasefire agreement that ends the war on the Gaza Strip and said the Zionist regime achieved none of its goals in this genocidal war.

“The Zionist regime is in a state of utter despair today and has accepted the truce out of desperation and weakness,” he underlined.

“We must continue along the path of (resistance fighters), and if we persevere on this path with patience, struggle, unity, and solidarity, we will definitely succeed.”

Qatar announced on Wednesday that Israel and the Palestinian Hamas resistance group had agreed to a ceasefire.

The truce is expected to come into effect on January 19 and includes three phases, each of which will last 42 days.

The first phase will see the release of about 1,000 Palestinian abductees, including those with lengthy sentences, in exchange for 33 Israeli captives held in Gaza. It also requires Israeli occupation forces to begin withdrawing from the Philadelphi corridor - also known as the Salah al-Din axis - on the Gaza-Egypt border.
