Iranian Qaris Sent to Indonesia as Part of Cultural Diplomacy Efforts

As part of efforts to enhance Quranic diplomacy, ICRO has dispatched Saleh Mahdizadeh and Mohammad Fallahpour to Indonesia for Quranic recitations during the Ten-Day Dawn celebrations marking the anniversary of Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Mostafa Hosseini Neishabouri, head of the ICRO’s International Center for Quran and Propagation, announced the news on Saturday.

"The Holy Quran considers the primary mission of divine prophets to be the transmission of the message of faith," he said. "Furthermore, it describes inviting people to God as the noblest speech and sees the prosperity of the Islamic community as the outcome of the prophets' efforts, likening human guidance to a renewal of life."

Neishabouri underscored the foundational role of Islamic beliefs in shaping moral and practical teachings. "Islamic teachings form the cornerstone of the moral system and practical commandments in Islam," he said, adding that the Quran presents these concepts through engaging and far-reaching methods to institutionalize them within society.

"The Quran, as the divine word, is the most comprehensive source for exploring and understanding Islamic propagation methods," he said. "Just as it serves as a guide in all aspects of human life, it is also a radiant beacon for researchers in this field. Undoubtedly, without drawing upon this abundant source, the characteristics and principles of Islamic preaching cannot be fully grasped."

Regarding Mahdizadeh’s participation in Indonesia, Neishabouri noted that his selection was made under the Quranic Risalatallah Comprehensive Plan, which aims to cater to various age groups.

Neishabouri also assessed the progress of the plan over the past two years as positive. "Under the strategic guidance of the Islamic Revolution Leader, the commissions affiliated with this plan have committed to implementing Quranic diplomacy initiatives and fulfilling this significant mission," he said.

Indonesia, home to the world’s largest Muslim population, has a long-standing tradition of Quran recitation and holds major international Quranic competitions.

The dispatch of Iranian reciters is part of ongoing cultural exchanges between the two countries.
