IQNA – The 29th edition of the Bahrain Holy Quran Grand Prize concluded with an awards ceremony held in observance of Laylat Al Qadr.

Organized by the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA) in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, the event recognized winners across multiple competition categories.

A total of 4,242 contestants participated in this year’s competition, with 105 male winners receiving awards, Bahrain News Agency reported on Wednesday.

Categories included Quran memorization for students at Quran centres, “Bayan” for school students, “Ajran” for persons with disabilities, “Ghufran” for inmates, “Ridhwan” for the general public, “Salman Al Farsi” for non-Arabic speakers, and a recitation and performance category.

Additional honors were presented for outstanding contributions, including the Family Quran Prize, recognition for the youngest and oldest participants, and Dawood’s Flute Prize for excellence in recitation.

The award for the best local Quran competition and the best Quran centre was also announced, with the Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa Quran Memorization Centre receiving top recognition.

The ceremony was attended by officials, religious figures, and community representatives, with awards presented to the winners.
