Gaza Health officials reported that airstrikes across the region claimed the lives of over 100 Palestinians, including at least 33 who were sheltering in a school in the Tuffah neighborhood of Gaza City.
Zaher al-Wahidi, a spokesperson for the Health Ministry, confirmed that the bodies of 14 children and five women were recovered from the school, and the death toll may increase as some of the 70 injured sustained critical wounds.
More than 30 individuals also lost their lives in attacks on residential homes in Shijaiyah, a nearby area, according to records from Ahli Hospital.
A day earlier, a United Nations shelter was struck, resulting in the deaths of at least 17 people, further escalating the crisis.

Concurrently, Israeli troops expanded what they refer to as a security zone in northern Gaza. Hundreds of residents have been forced to leave the area, transporting belongings on foot, bicycles, or using vans and donkey carts.
Amid the worsening situation, the president of the Palestine Red Crescent Society, Younis Al-Khatib, has called for an independent investigation into Israeli crimes and accountability for those responsible.
Al-Khatib highlighted the precarious state of the humanitarian system in Gaza, warning of its potential collapse. He revealed that the Red Crescent has lost 30 staff members, including eight in Tel al-Sultan, Rafah, where one team member remains unaccounted for.
The humanitarian organization has also urged for stronger protections for aid workers and pressed the Israeli military for information on their missing personnel.
Al-Khatib’s appeals add to growing demands for urgent measures to address the deteriorating conditions in Gaza.
The Israeli regime has killed thousands of Palestinians in Gaza since breaking a ceasefire in March 18. The occupation forces have massacred more than 50,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, during 18 months of onslaught against the besieged territory.
