Iran’s National Quran Museum to Be Relocated

IQNA – The director of Iran’s National Quran Museum said the museum will be relocated to the Saadabad Cultural and Historical Complex in northern Tehran.

Hojat-ol-Islam Fakhreddin Saberi said the decision has been made by the Museums Department of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts. 

The move will be made next week in order to provide better services to visitors, he stated.

Visiting the Quran Museum, which is currently located at the intersection of Imam Khomeini and Valiasr streets, was accompanied by restrictions such as lack of parking spaces, he noted.

Hence, for better accessibility and provision of more services and holding various events, it will be relocated to Saadabad, he added.

The National Museum of the Quran, dedicated to the arts related to the Quran, was inaugurated in Tehran in 2005.

The treasury of the museum includes manuscript copies of the Quran, copies of works by outstanding Iranian poets, scrolls, and books of Islamic supplications, dating from the fourth century AH to the late Qajar era.
