Summer Quran Courses for Iraqi Students to Start on May 25

IQNA – The National Quranic Sciences Center, affiliated to Iraq’s Shia Awqaf Department, plans to organize summer Quranic courses for school students.

The courses will be held for girls and boys aged 6 to 15 at the center’s Thaqalayn Hall.

Starting on May 25, they will run for three months, according to the center.

The courses will take place daily from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. local time. Three days (Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday) are designated for girls, and two days (Monday and Wednesday) are designated for boys.

Instructors from the center’s Quranic Activities Unit, Quran Memorization Center, and Women Qaris and Memorizers Unit will oversee these courses.

There will be jurisprudential, ideological and moral lessons as well as sideline programs including sessions for memorizing Juzes and Surahs of the Quran, as well as lessons on recitation rules.

There has been a growing trend of Quranic programs such as competitions, recitation sessions and educational programs held in the country in recent years.
