IQNA – The decision to relocate the National Quran Museum has been made with the aim of expanding Quranic activities, an official said.

Earlier this month, the director of Iran’s National Quran Museum said the museum will be relocated to the Saadabad Cultural and Historical Complex in northern Tehran.

On Monday, Ali Darabi, the cultural heritage deputy of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, said the Quran Museum in its previous location had certan limitations.

Especially during specific times, notably the holy month of Ramadan when Quranic institutions had special programs lasting until dawn, it was not possible to hold Quranic events at that venue, he said.

“These serious limitations have led us to the conclusion that we must relocate this museum,” Darabi stated.

“We are currently transferring equipment and facilities to the Saadabad Complex, which provides a more suitable space for Quranic activities,” he added.

Attention to serving the Holy Quran, as one of the great achievements of the Islamic Revolution, necessitates facilitating people’s access to this museum, Darabi stressed.

“We hope that through these measures, we have taken an effective step towards the development and promotion of Quranic culture.”
