The 30-year-old sprinter, who has won multiple medals at the World Athletics Championships and the Olympic Games, declared the shahada—the Islamic testimony of faith—at a mosque.

Kerley has achieved significant success on the international stage. He holds three gold medals, one silver, and one bronze from World Championships events. At the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, he earned a silver medal in the men’s 100-meter sprint, and more recently, he claimed bronze in the same event at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
