Religion, Spirituality to Have Effective Role in Future World: ICRO Chief

IQNA – The head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization said religion and spirituality will have an effective role in the future world.

Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Mehdi Imanipour, the head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization met in Moscow with the head of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences Ali Akbarov.

 

Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Mehdi Imanipour made the remark in a meeting in Moscow with the head of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The world is crossing a path where Western civilization will not be sustainable and the future will experience a new order, he said.

“We are looking for a way to find out which civilization can replace the contemporary civilization because evidence suggests that the world is moving in a direction where religion and spirituality will have an effective role in the system that will govern the world of the future,” he stated.

“We have started studies with some related institutions in different countries that we would like to discuss with the (Russian) Oriental Institute in this regard and we are ready to share the information and research that we have done.”

Ali Akbarov, the head of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, for his part, hailed the efforts made by ICRO and the Iranian Cultural Center in Moscow to develop scholarly and cultural ties between Iran and Russia.

He also said that today, there is talk of a new world order and a future multipolar world, and it is important that the world is now looking for new alliances in which no one is superior to another and is governed on the basis of justice, no one is above anyone.

The BRICS alliance is one example of a new form of cooperation between friendly countries based on the interaction of civilizations for the development and promotion of other civilizations, he stated.

The OIC culture ministers’ meeting will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025, concurrent with the Russia-Islamic World: Kazan Forum.
