It also said that since the beginning of the Hajj operations, one Iranian Hajj pilgrim has passed away.

To date, 31 Iranian pilgrims were hospitalized in Medina and 124 in Mecca, four of whom are still in Medina hospitals and 15 are currently hospitalized in Mecca, the center said in a statement, adding that, sadly, an Iranian pilgrim has died in Mecca.

According to the statement, for every 550 Iranian Hajj pilgrims this year, one doctor will be assigned, and a total of 360 people will provide healthcare services to Iranian pilgrims in the cities of Mecca and Medina.

It noted that currently, respiratory illnesses, especially colds, are the most common illness among Iranian pilgrims.

Due to the presence of pilgrims from different countries and the diversity of indigenous diseases, adherence to hygiene tips such as the use of masks, regular hand washing, social distancing, and adequate rest in case of respiratory symptoms is essential, the statement stressed.

It said the second disease and problem of pilgrims is muscle spasms. Overall, the Iranian pilgrims are doing well.

“Due to the heat and crowding of the pilgrim cities, pilgrims should avoid heatstroke and possible illnesses by following health protocols. It is recommended that pilgrims drink enough fluids, use a personal water bottle, avoid being outdoors during the hot hours of the day, postpone favorite activities to the cool hours of the night, and wear brightly colored silk clothing. Following these tips will help you stay healthy and more productive in the spiritual space of Hajj.”
