Quran Competition in Slovenia Draws Over 1,000 Participants in Ninth Annual Edition

Held at the Islamic Cultural Center in the Slovenian capital, the event is one of the country’s most significant annual Islamic gatherings, attracting students of all ages, parents, and educators in Quranic and Arabic studies.

This year’s competition featured eight categories centered around the theme “The Morals of a Muslim in the Quran and Sunnah.” Participants competed in memorization of specific Quranic chapters, explored the Prophet’s biography, the lives of his Companions, the pillars of Islam, and Islamic ethics. A total of 139 contestants, both male and female, took part, The Peninsula reported on Sunday.

The event is organized annually by the Islamic Community in Slovenia, with participation from 18 Quranic learning centers throughout the country. These centers provide weekly lessons in Quran memorization, Islamic theology, the Prophet’s life (Sirah), and moral teachings—efforts aimed at nurturing Islamic values among youth in a multicultural context.
