Supporting Quran Memorization Centers A Religious, Social Duty: Al-Azhar Official

IQNA – The deputy of Egypt’s Al-Azhar Islamic Center described supporting Quran memorization centers as a religious and social duty.

The inauguration ceremony of a new Quran center in the village of Majoul in the Gharbia province of Egypt was held on Saturday, September 6, 2025.

 

Abdul Rahman Al-Dawaini was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of a new Quran center in the village of Majoul in the Gharbia province of Egypt on Saturday, Al-Jumhuriya Online reported.

The ceremony was also attended by Nazir Muhammad Ayyad, Grand Mufti of Egypt, as well as local officials and residents of the village.

Al-Dawaini emphasized the importance of caring for the Quran and supporting Quranic activists and said opening such centers is effective in nurturing emerging generations of Quranic memorizers, adhering to Quranic values ​​and ethics, serving society, and educating humanity.

He added that supporting Quran memorization centers is a religious and social duty, and Quranic centers are considered beacons of awareness and strengthening moral values ​​in society.

Al-Dawini also said a society that cares about the Book of God is built on moral values ​​and virtues.

The Grand Mufti of Egypt also addressed the event, expressing his pleasure at participating in the opening ceremony of the Quran center.

Serving the Quran is a great honor, and supporting the memorizers and providing ways to teach the Quran are among the greatest virtues that everyone should strive to do, he stated.

Ayyad said the Islamic Ummah today needs a generation that is aware, instilled with Quranic ethics, capable of facing challenges, and capable of building a better future for their homeland.

He also called on the villagers to encourage their children to participate in the Quran center’s programs, as these centers will protect them from deviant beliefs and negative behaviors.
