IQNA – The city of Benghazi in northeast Libya is hosting the 13th edition of the country’s international Quran competition.

The Libya International Holy Quran Award has commenced in Benghazi earlier this week, marking a prominent religious and cultural event that brings together contestants from more than 70 countries around the world.

This high-level participation reflects the official importance that the Libyan state attaches to this global Quranic competition.

It highlights the commitment to supporting and sponsoring religious activities that enhance the Islamic and spiritual identity of the society.

The Libya International Holy Quran Award is considered an important Quranic competition. Each edition attracts an elite group of Quran memorizers from various continents to compete in an atmosphere of faith and spirituality, governed by the values of brotherhood, love, and peace called for by the Holy Quran.

The current edition is expected to witness strong competition among the participants.

Libya is a Muslim-majority country in North Africa that has more than a million Quran memorizers.
