IQNA – The Iranian Islamic Mysticism Scientific Association will host its Annual International Conference on Islamic Mysticism Studies in Tehran on April 14, 2026, focusing on the theme “Mysticism, Sufism, and Iranian Identity.”

The event aims to bring together scholars, researchers, and academics from across the humanities and social sciences to examine how mysticism and Sufism have shaped Iran’s cultural, intellectual, and spiritual identity throughout history.

Mysticism and Sufism have long been seen as key elements of Iran’s cultural heritage, influencing literature, art, philosophy, and social life. The conference will explore their historical and contemporary roles through interdisciplinary perspectives.

Discussion topics include the interaction between Sufism and Shi’ism, the reflection of mysticism in Persian and indigenous languages, its role in Iranian popular culture, and the influence of mystical thought on art and national identity.

Comparative and intercultural approaches will also be considered, particularly regarding Sufism’s role in cultural diplomacy and responses to modernity and globalization.

The conference will be conducted in Persian and English. Abstracts may be submitted through the official website, erfanconf.ir, by February 14, 2026, with full papers due by April 14, 2026.
