IQNA – Pro-Palestinian activists in London have launched a campaign to support Palestinian prisoners held by the Israeli regime.

A campaign has been launched in London to support Palestinian prisoners.

The campaign aims to raise awareness among the British and Western public opinion about the issue of Palestinian prisoners held in the Israeli regime’s prisons, emphasizing that these prisoners are held as hostages.

With the slogan ‘Free Palestinian Hostages’, it seeks to raise awareness among the British public about the plight of thousands of Palestinian prisoners, many of whom have been held in prison for years in what the Tel Aviv regime calls ‘administrative detention’.

The London campaign began with the display of red ribbons on the streets of Westminster in central London and the installation of stickers with pictures of some of the prisoners, including doctors and children.

It focuses on the number 9,100, which represents the number of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons, including 3,544 administrative detainees without trial, 400 children, 53 women, 16 doctors and 300 prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment.

The campaign will initially focus on the doctors, women and children, given the particular humanitarian significance of their suffering.

It will also expand to other key areas of London and will include hanging red ribbons, information posters and the production of short videos of prisoners’ stories.

These videos will be shared across media and social media platforms to turn the campaign into a powerful global movement.

According to the campaign organizers, the choice of red as the movement’s unified visual symbol is in an effort to find a universal symbol that represents the blood of Palestinians and the suffering of prisoners in the Zionist regime’s prisons.

The campaign organizers have stressed that it is not limited to a specific group and is open to anyone who wishes to participate or volunteer from within or outside the UK.
