IQNA – The move by a Saudi TV channel to censor a part of the Friday prayer sermons at the Grand Mosque in Mecca has been widely criticized by cyberspace users.

Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ikhbariya television channel removed a part of the Friday prayer sermon by Sheikh Saleh bin Hamid, the imam of the Grand Mosque.

The censored part of the sermons was related to Gaza and the Palestinian people, according to Al Jazeera.

In this sermon, Sheikh Saleh bin Hamid called for setting a role model for Palestinian children so that young people can learn heroism and courage from them in the face of the brutal Zionist enemy.

In his sermon, which focused on educating the young generation and teaching human values ​​and courage, he addressed the Muslims of the world and said, “Make Palestinian children your role models in goodness so that your children can learn from them manhood and heroic positions against the cruel Zionist enemy.”

He added that the children of Palestine are men in action and that they fought hand to hand with the cruel and savage Zionist enemy and were not afraid of its superior and deadly weapons.

“(They) stood with manliness and refused to accept the humiliation and disgrace of surrender.”

The preacher emphasized that Palestine and al-Quds will forever remain lofty and proud in the hearts of Arabs and Muslims.

The censorship of this part of the sermons drew widespread criticism from social media users in Arab countries. They strongly criticized the Saudi television network’s move.
