IQNA – The first national Quran memorization competition titled “Fa Istamasik: Hold on to the Quran” has begun in Oman.

The first national Quran memorization competition titled “Fa Istamasik: Hold on to the Quran” began in Oman on December 15, 2025.

 

It has been organized thanks to the efforts of the country’s Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs, shabiba.com reported.

The contest began on Monday (December 15) in cooperation with the Mustahil Endowment Foundation, and its preliminary stage will last for two weeks.

Memorizers from the governorates of Muscat, Al Buraimi, North East, Dakhiliyah and Dhofar are participating in this competition.

The aim of the competition is facilitating participation in Quranic contests and providing a suitable opportunity and competitive atmosphere to showcase their capabilities.

A total of 347 men and women are participating in this competition, of which 176 are men and 171 are women.

Memorizing the entire Quran with the interpretation of Surah Al-Baqarah and memorization of the entire Quran are the two categories of the event.
