The competition is scheduled to be held in the holy month of Ramadan (February-March, 2026), Al-Watan reported.
Residents of the village of Kafr Shinwan, a suburb of Shebin El-Kum city in Menoufia, will organize the Quranic event in memory of the three children who lost their lives in a carbon monoxide poisoning incident in their home.
The competition, titled ‘Birds of Paradise’, is a way of expressing solidarity and sympathy with the family of the deceased sisters.
It demonstrates the broad participation of the community in spreading goodness and encouraging children to memorize the Book of God.
Mohammed Al-Arabi, one of the organizers of the competition, said that it all started when the mother of the three girls commented on a post on social media about the Holy Quran competition, saying, “May God protect you, Sheikh Mohammed. I swear to God, this is a beautiful event. My daughter intended to participate in this competition this year by memorizing half of the Quran, but she did not get the chance.”
He emphasized that in honor of the three sisters, the organizing committee of the contest decided to name it “Birds of Paradise” to honor their memory.
Al-Arabi explained that no words can describe the greatness of the pain and suffering that is in the hearts of the family. “(But) we believe in the great reward of God for your patience and for considering your daughters as servants of God, and that the share of these three girls in Paradise is greater and better, and their position is higher with our Lord.”
Muhammad Al-Arabi also said valuable prizes, including an Umrah trip, have been planned for the first place winners, and a ceremony to celebrate the best will be held at the end of Ramadan.
