
Violent rioters vandalized public and private properties in a number of cities across Iran last week, killing dozens of ordinary people and security forces and inflicting injuries on others.
People across Iran mobilized on January 12 to denounce the riots and acts of terrorism, reaffirming their commitment to the Islamic Revolution and condemning those responsible for disrupting national order.
In a statement, the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought highlighted the role of the United States and the Israeli regime in the riots.
It also referred to the desecration of Quran and mosques during the riots and said the enemies that have pursued the policy of Islamophobia for years have now removed their mask and blatantly insult religious sanctities through their mercenaries.

The statement said the support for the Islamic Republic by Shia and Sunni scholars and elite figures during the recent riots is appreciable and praiseworthy.
The WFPIST also lauded the Iranian nation for taking part in massive rallies in condemnation of the riots.
