Hojat-ol-Islam Hamid Reza Arbab Soleimani, head of the Iranian Culture Ministry’s Quran and Etrat Supreme Center who also heads this edition of the expo, made the announcement in an interview with IQNA.

“According to the planned schedule, from February 20, which coincides with the holy month of Ramadan, we will witness the (launch of the) 33rd International Exhibition of the Holy Quran.”

He said one of the main approaches of this edition is to pay more attention to the Quran, Nahj al-Balagha, and Sahifeh Sajjadiyeh.

Nahj al-Balagha, as the ‘brother of the Quran’, and Sahifeh Sajjadiyeh as the ‘siste of the Quran’, are valuable sources, along with the Holy Quran, that can together provide a complete system of religious knowledge to the audience, he said, adding that special attention to these three sources will be one of the highlights of this year’s exhibition.

As for the international section of the expo, he said efforts have been made to better utilize all available capacities, both domestically and internationally.

“For the first time, in consultation with experts and activists in this field, a roadmap has been designed for the international section so that, with the cooperation and participation of Quranic elites, we can present a coherent, effective program worthy of the dignity of the International Quran Exhibition.”

Hojat-ol-Islam Arbab Soleimani added that one of the main themes of this year’s exhibition is a special focus on children, adolescents, and young people.

“Separate sections have been planned for these age groups to establish a deeper connection with the Quran using language and tools that suit their tastes.”

In the translation section, the focus will be on translations produced after the victory of the Islamic Revolution and over the past four decades, he said.

“These translations will be reviewed and evaluated, and finally, the best translations of the Holy Quran, Nahj al-Balagha, and Sahifeh Sajjadiyeh will be introduced and their creators will be honored so that these works can be better made available to the public.”

He was asked about the desecration of the Quran and mosques in recent riots and the role that the exhibition can play in promoting the Holy Book.

He said that undoubtedly, the Quran exhibition can be a clear manifestation of people’s familiarity with the Quran. “We hope that, just as we witnessed the good reception of the people last year, this year too, considering the sensitivities created, the presence of the people will be more prominent and meaningful, and this presence will help strengthen the position of the Quran in the public space of society.”
