The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) launched an appeal to the Muslim world on the International Literacy Day, which falls on September 8th, wherein it calls for greater efforts, at various levels, to address illiteracy on a wider scale, using sound plans embedded in national policies rallying stakeholders in the Muslim world around such a worthwhile cause.
