Head of Egypt's Quran Reciters Association said a number of the country's reciters will be prosecuted for travelling to Iran and Iraq.

Sheikh Muhammad Mahmoud Tablawi said the Quran reicters have been to Iran and Iraq without having permission from the association.
He referred to Sheikh Ahmed Ahmed Noaina, Taha Muhammad Numani, Muhammad Abdul Wahab Tantawi and Yassir Abdul Bassit Abdul Samad as some of the Qaris to be summoned.
Egypt's Awqaf Ministry also said it is investigating the case in cooperation with the Quran Reciters Association.
Last month, Tablawi had said Egyptian Quran reciters must be banned from travelling to Shia countries.
He called on Sheikh of Al-Azhar Islamic Center Ahemd Al-Tayyeb and Egypt's Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Minister Muhammad Mukhtar Guma to prevent Egyptian Qaris and the scholars of Al-Azhar from going to Iran and Iraq.
It came after Farajullah Shazli, the eminent Egyptian Qari, was temporarily banned from Quran recitation in Cairo's Al-Azhar Mosque because he once recited the Adhan (call to prayers) the Shia style while in Iraq.
Shazli was later forced to apologize, which indicated the influence of extremist Salafist groups in Egypt.
