Grand Source of Emulation Commemorated
-- A ceremony was held at Azzam Mosque in the holy city of Qom last night to commemorate the late Shia source of emulation grand Ayatollah Sayyed Mohammad Reza Golpayegani.
Grand sources of emulation Ayatollah Vahid Khorasani, Ayatollah Safi Golpayegani and Ayatollah Alavi Gorgani as well as seminary scholars and pilgrims of Hazarat Masumeh (SA) holy shrine attended the ceremony.
Addressing the function, Hojat-ol-Islam Fazel Khorasani praised late Ayatollah Golpayegani’s character and said,” He was a source of emulation whom people loved. He was really devoted to Ahl-ul-bayt (AS) and had an exceptional love for the infallible Imams (AS).”
He added that Ayatollah Golpayegani was among those scholars and Ulema the blessings of whose lives continue after their demise through the scholarly works they have left behind.
Hojat-ol-Islam Fazel Khorasani went on to say that many of the great figures in Qom’s seminary consider themselves indebted to the late Ayatollah Golpayegani.
Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Mohammad Reza Golpayegani passed away on December 9, 1993.
