Sources of Emulation Denounce Quran Desecration in US

-- Grand Shia sources of emulation in separate statements denounced desecration of the holy Quran in the United States on the anniversary of the September 11 attacks.
In his statement, grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi stressed that the enemies of the Quran must realize that such despicable acts would not undermine the greatness of the Quran, but rather proves the inhumanity of those behind these acts.
He strongly condemned insulting the sanctities of 1.5 billion Muslims and called on international organizations to find ways for putting an end to such sacrilegious acts.
Grand Ayatollah Nuri Hamedani also condemned burning of the Quran and said US president should be held responsible for this crime against Muslim sanctities.
Grand Ayatollah Safi Golpayegani in his message said that the world’s people and governments should make efforts to save American leaders from its arrogant conceit.
He stressed that the world’s Muslims will not be satisfied with insincere condemnations of this desecration but are waiting to see the United States’ appropriate response to ensure such sacrileges will not happen again.
Quran desecrations in Tennessee, New York and Washington on the anniversary of 9/11 attacks has sparked anger in the Muslim world.
