Ashura Mourning Ceremony Held in Lahore

A mourning ceremony was held by Iran Cultural Center in Lahore, Pakistan, to mark the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Husain (AS) on the day of Ashura.
According to the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), the program was attended by Bani Asadi, Iranian Counselor, Abbas Famuri, in charge of Iran Cultural Center in Lahore, Iranian staff and their families as well as Iranian students residing in the city.
Imam Reza (AS) Hall of the center hosted the program on December 6.
It began with Quran recitation and Ashura Supplication and continued with a speech by Hojat-ol-Islam Mousavizadeh, Iranian cleric, highlighting moral lessons and values taken from the historic Battle of Karbala occurring on Muharram 10, in the year 61 of the Islamic calendar.
The speech on Imam Hussein’s (AS) uprising and Ashura incident was followed by elegies and mourning rituals to commemorate the event.
The program concluded with congregational prayers.
