A Serbian Quran memorizer has rejected the idea that the director of the sacrilegious US-made movie has exercised his right of freedom of speech for producing the trailer, believing such rights do not authorize insulting sanctities of other religions.
Ammar Modrizovich who represented Serbia at the 4th round of International Quran Competition for Muslim Students in Tabriz City, northwestern Iran, told IQNA that the film, of poor quality, should be countered seriously as it denigrates the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Supporting Libyans’ measure in setting fire to US consulate building, he said such anti-Islamic moves are not put into practice without the US sponsorship.
Citing verse 9 of Surah Al-Tahrim, the translation of which reads: “O Prophet (Muhammad)! Strive hard against the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be severe against them, their abode will be Hell, and worst indeed is that destination,” he called for the prosecution of the heinous act’s perpetrators.
The Quran activist urged all Muslims around the world to take to streets and express their wrath over the nasty act since Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) is the most revered figure among Muslims".
Elsewhere in his remarks, Ammar referred to the 4th International Quran competition for Muslim Students, saying such contests pave the way for presence of Quranic elites from different countries to make use of each other’s experiences and establish long-term friendship.
He further touched on widespread discrimination against Muslims in Serbia, saying, “90 percent of people in the city I’m living in are Muslim whereas judicial, public and police officials are predominantly Serbian.”
He added Muslims are struggling to vindicate their rights in Serbia, play a more effective role in society and establish a university for Muslim students.
