Moral Virtues of Imam Hussein (AS) Emissary Clarified in Lahore

Seerah and moral virtues of Muslim ibn Aqeel, Imam Hussein’s (AS) cousin and emissary to Kufa, were clarified at a ceremony held on October 26 in Lahore, Punjab Province of Pakistan.
According to IQNA’s branch in South Asia, holy shrine of Bibi Paak Daaman in the city hosted the program on martyrdom anniversary of Muslim ibn Aqeel.
It was attended by a number of scholars and intellectuals such as Seyyed Naseem Abbas Razvi, Shoukat Reza Shoukat and Seyyed Gholam Abbas who talked about bravery and loyalty of the companion of Imam Hussein (AS).
The program also included mourning rituals and elegies.
Similarly, a number of mourning ceremonies were held at mosques, religious centers and Shia schools of other cities of Pakistan such as Faisalabad, Multan, Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
Bibi Paak Daaman is the name given to the shrine and mausoleum of Ruqayyah bint Ali, sister of Hazrat Abbas (AS) and also the wife of Muslim ibn Aqeel. It is said that it holds the graves of six ladies from the Holy Prophet’s household (Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS)) who came here after the event of the battle of Karbala on the 10th day of the month of Muharram in 61 AH (October 10, AD 680).
