Ashura Culture in US Being Investigated by Quran Radio

Iranian Quran Radio channel is studying various aspects of this year’s Muharram mourning ceremonies being observed in the US via producing a program titled “Extent of Ashura”.
According to public relations office of the Quran Radio, the program is disseminating information regarding mourning ceremonies underway in different states of the US particularly Washington.
Islamic Education Center of Washington is hosting programs on martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS) and his companions and family from the beginning of the month.
Karbala uprising, its causes and roots as well as its effects on Muslims’ life are clarified for an hour by scholars and intellectuals at the programs every night.
As another part of the radio program, Iranian cultural attaché in Greece discusses Muharram traditions in this country.
Hojat-ol-Islam Rafi’i also talks about Ashura teachings and the Muharram rituals in Canada.
The radio program has been produced by Mahdiyeh Taqizadeh, written by Seyyed Mohammad Mousawi Jazayeri and narrated by Reza Khazrayi.
It is aired via the Quran Radio Network of the Islamic Republic of Iran every night except for Thursdays and Fridays.
“Extent of Ashura” mainly focuses on Muharram ceremonies observed annually around the world and aims to underline that how important and everlasting Ashura is.
