He added that families are required to make every attempt as to their children’s religious education stressing that the burden of this duty is heavy and that fathers’ role in this respect ought to be more controlling and active.
Tehran interim Friday Prayers leader called on parents to name their children after Holy Prophets (PBUT) and the infallible Imams (PBUT) in order to spread the culture of Ahl-ul-Bayt’s (AS) schools of thought.
He further said that parents need to keep an eye on their children and particularly their friends as enemies are striving for introducing deviant teachings of false mysticism to our younger generation.
Ayatollah Khatami added that we [Iranians] are Shia Muslims and should follow the commander of faithful, Imam Ali (AS) in various aspects of life.
“We need to get the youth more familiar with philosophy of Ghadir and introduce the Imam’s (AS) rights of Velayat (leadership) and Imamat to them”.
