An exhibition featuring the culture of Ashura is underway in the El Salvadorian capital of San Salvador.
Starting from November 25, it has been organized by the Fatemeh Al-Zahara (SA) Islamic Cultural Center of the Central American country’s Shia community.
Mustafa El Salvadori, head of the Shia community of El Salvador, said the exhibition is part of the community’s special programs for Muharram that aim to promote the culture of Ashura.
He stressed that Imam Hussein (AS) did not fight for his own interest but stood up against injustice and oppression. “The Seerah of Imam Hussein (AS) teaches us the lesson of life.”
Mr. El Salvadori underlined that “we are proud to be the followers of Imam Hussein (AS) and to be helping to familiarize the people of El Salvador with the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS).”
The Ashura Culture Exhibition is being held at the former house of El Salvador’s president. It showcases religious books, magazines, photos, and artworks.
