By attending ceremonies in (the lunar Hijri months of) Muharram and Safar to mourn the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS), the Iranian nation demonstrate their constant devotion to the Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS).
This is according to Tehran’s Interim Friday Prayer Leader Ayatollah Movahedi Kermani, while addressing worshippers at Tehran University campus yesterday.
“The attentive and vigilant Iranian people have demonstrated their Basirat (insight) and their loyalty to the Velayat in every juncture,” he underlined.
He referred to last week’s demise of the grand source of emulation Ayatollah Haj Agha Mojtaba Tehrani, describing the late cleric as a role model and an exemplary figure who introduced Islam and Islamic ethics to the world.
Ayatollah Movahedi Kermani expressed condolences over Ayatollah Tehrani’s demise to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, the seminaries, the cleric’s students and companions and the bereaved family.
Tehran’s interim Friday prayer leader further extended congratulations to Christians all over the world on the occasion of the new year and urged leaders of the US and Europe to follow the guidelines of Prophet Jesus (AS).
“The Western world should follow the example of this Divine Prophet (AS) in purity and compassion but unfortunately it has distanced itself from the school of Prophet Jesus (AS).”
He called on Western leaders to wake up and learn from previous experiences and from the fate of those such as the Shah, Saddam Hussein, Muammar Ghaddafi and the leaders of the former Soviet Union.
Ayatollah Movahedi Kermani further referred to the conspiracies of Islam’s enemies, saying that they are planning to create sectarian and ethnic conflicts in Iraq, while still continuing to hatch plots in Syria.
He also pointed to the victory of the Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, over the Zionist regime in the 8-day war, and said Hamas courageously managed to put fear in the hearts of the Zionist leaders and army officers.
