Ayatollah Araki Meets with Hezbollah Leader

Secretary General of the Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought (WFPIST) met with Hezbollah Leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah on Friday.
Iran’s Ambassador to Lebanon Ghazanfar Roknabadi accompanied Ayatollah Mohsen Araki in the meeting, Al-Manar website reported.
Also present at the meeting with Sheikh Hassan Abdullah, head of the administrative council of Lebanon’s Muslim Scholars Assembly.
Ayatollah Araki and Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah discussed general issues of the Muslim world as well as the WFPIST’s measures and strategies for promoting proximity among Muslims, especially during the current sensitive situation.
Ayatollah Araki on Thursday told a press conference in Beirut that the WFPIST will open a branch in the Lebanese capital with the aim of confronting the issue of Takfir (regarding one’s fellow-Muslim as infidel) and strengthening solidarity in the Muslim world.
He also appointed Sheikh Hassan Abdullah as the forum’s representative in Beirut and called for a conference of representatives of religions and sects.
Elsewhere in his remarks at the press conference, Ayatollah Araki pointed to the situation of Palestine and said the Zionist regime is not a crisis for Palestine only but for the entire Muslim Ummah.
