An international conference in the holy city of Karbala, Iraq, investigated the dangers of the Takfiri ideology for the Islamic Ummah.
The event was organized by the Astan (custodianship) of the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) on Saturday, September 14, Al-Manar network reported.
A number of Muslim scholars from different countries and different Islamic schools of thought took part in the international conference.
They warned against the spread of Takfiri ideas and underlined the need for uprooting Fitna (sedition) in religious sermons.
The participants also called for moderation in religious sermons and speeches and efforts against radicalism and extremism.
They further warned against the attacks by Takfiri groups in Syria against religious minorities, saying such moves aimed to spread chaos and sedition in the region.
The scholars and religious activists attending the international conference also stressed the need for the Iraqi nation to remain united against foreign conspiracies.
