Palestinian Islamic Movement Honors Translator of Quran into Hebrew
TEHRAN (IQNA) – A delegation from the Palestinian Islamic Movement met with Subhi Adawi, a Palestinian Quran teacher who has translated the Holy Quran into the Hebrew language.
They praised Adawi’s efforts to do the rendering for the first time in Palestine.
Members of the delegation considered the work as a laudable one which would greatly benefit Hebrew speakers of Hebrew who want to read the Quran.
Adawi did the translation under the supervision of Zaid al-Ais, the director of the Bayyinat Quranic Studies in Amman, Jordan.
It took him some 1000 days to do the translation, which aims to introduce the Holy Book of Islam to Jews.
According to experts, the Hebrew rendering accurately conveys the messages of the Quran.
There have been previous Hebrew renderings of the Quran but Adawi says they are influenced by the language of the Torah.
