AMU to Organize International Conference on Quran

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The K. A. Nizami Centre for Quranic Studies, Aligarh Muslim University, India, is organizing a two-day International Conference on "Social and Spiritual Teachings of the Quran in Contemporary Perspective" on April 4-5, 2016.

The inaugural ceremony will be held in the Conference Room of Administrative Block.

Director of the Centre, Prof. A. A. Nizami said that Professor Akhtarul Wasey, Commissioner of Linguistic Minorities, Govt. of India will deliver keynote address and Nawab Ibne Said Khan Sahib of Chattari, Pro-Chancellor will preside over the function.

He said that the conference will focus on introducing the younger generation of Muslims to the ideals and values enunciated by the holy Quran that are inherent to the Islamic tradition for a disciplined life.

Prof. Nizami said that experts, Ulemas and scholars from India and abroad will discuss Right Discourse in the Quran, The Quran as lived by the Prophet (PBUH) and the Companions, Aesthetic aspects of the Quran and Ulum al-Quran in the light of modern social sciences.

Professor M. Nauman Khan, New Delhi, Professor Syed Jahangir, EFLU, Hyedrabad, Dr. Shaik Abdullah B. Hassan Mydin, Malaysia and Professor Masood Ahmad, AMU will deliver invited lectures and chair the technical sessions.
