Is He World’s Oldest Quran Memorizer?
TEHRAN (IQNA) – Hussein Sheikh Ahmedov is said to be the oldest memorizer of the Holy Quran.
A report carried by mnaide.az website claims he was born in 1896 and is now 120 years old.
While his age is sure to have been exaggerated, he is still one of, if not the, oldest people in the world who have learned the Quran by heart.
He has spent 50 years of his life learning and teaching the Quran, the report says.
Ahmedov continues his Quranic activities despite his age and is proud to be teaching the Quran.
