Sierra Leone Hosts Husseini (AS) Infants Gathering
It was organized by the Iranian Cultural Center in the African country.
Concurrent with the lunar Hijri month of Muharram, Husseini (AS) infants gatherings were held in different parts of the world.
The event is a congregation of mothers and their babies to remember the 6-month-old infant son of Imam Hussein (AS), Hazrat Ali Asghar (AS), who was mercilessly killed in the battle of Karbala in the year 680 AD.
In the programs held in Sierra Leone, speakers elaborated on different aspects of the Karbala uprising and the martyrdom of Hazrat Ali Asghar (AS).
Sierra Leone is a Muslim-majority country in West Africa, bordered by Guinea on the north, Liberia in the south-east, and the Atlantic Ocean in the south-west.
There are around 4,060,000 Muslims in Sierra Leone, making up approximately 72 percent the country's total population.
