Ayatollah Rafsanjani, a former president of Iran and chairman of the Expediency Council, died at a hospital in northern Tehran on Sunday at the age of 82 due to a heart condition.
Nasrallah on Monday offered his condolences over the demise of the senior Iranian cleric, stressing that Hezbollah will never forget his support in all stages of its history.
"Last night, we lost a great man and a great figure of this Ummah (Muslim community),” he said, praying to God for his soul to rest in peace.
Nasrallah underlined that Ayatollah Rafsanjani had firm belief in supporting the main issue of the Muslim world, that is the issue of Palestine, and always supported the resistant Palestinian nation.
The Hezbollah chief expressed condolences over the demise of Ayatollah Rafsanjani to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, grand sources of emulation, Iranian people and officials and the family of the late cleric.
