According to Seyed Mohammad Reza Rezapour, the deputy head of the department, the manuscript copy dates back to the 9th Hijri century (16th century AD).
He said the name of the translator of the work is not known.
Tabari (also known as Mazandarani) is an Iranian language of the Northwestern branch, spoken mainly in Iran’s Mazandaran, Tehran and Golestan provinces.
Rezapour further noted that there are 14,000 Quran manuscripts and handwritten Quranic works in the Astan Quds Razavi museum in Mashhad, northeast of Iran.
Some of the Quran copies are attributed to the Infallible Imams (AS), he said, adding the donation date of the oldest one is 327 Hijri (939 AD).
