Winners of Annual Quran Competition Awarded in Oman

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Top winners of an annual nationwide Quran contest in Oman were awarded in a ceremony earlier this week.

According to al-Watan website, the Arab country’s education ministry organizes the contest among education centers every year.

It is held for school students on memorization of the Holy Quran. 

This year, an education center from Ash Sharqiyah North province came first.

The one from Al Batinah North province was the runner-up and the third-rank winner was a center affiliated to the department of private schools.

The ceremony, held in al-Watiya district, was attended by a number of officials from the ministries of education and social development.

Addressing the event, Yahya bin Khamis al-Harethi, an education ministry official, underlined the ministry’s efforts in Quranic fields, saying the annual competition is an indication of the importance it attaches to Quranic activities.
