Nearly 900 Papers, Abstracts Submitted to Quran, Humanities Int’l Conference

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The scientific secretary of an international Quranic conference due to be held in Qom later this year, said some 900 papers and abstract papers have been submitted to the scholarly event so far.


The international conference on Quran and humanities is scheduled to be organized in the holy city in October.

Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Ali Rezaei Esfehani said the number of papers the secretariat has received reaches 200.

There have been nearly 700 abstract papers sent to the conference as well, he noted.

The Higher Education Center of Al-Mustafa International University, based in Qom, is organizing the conference.

The Quran and objectives of humanities, methodology of interdisciplinary studies about Quran and sciences, Quran’s scientific theorizations in the field of humanities, Quran’s role in development of humanities in the Islamic civilization, and relation between the Quran and humanities from contemporary scholars’ perspective are some of the topics to be discussed at the conference.

In recent years, there have been numerous efforts to develop interdisciplinary Quranic studies in different areas, especially in humanities.
