According to the Iranian Culture House in Mumbai, Jahanbakhsh Faraji will leave for India on Friday.
He will later be joined by members of the Qadr Tawasheeh (religious songs) group from Tehran.
They will recite the Quran and perform Tawasheeh programs at mosques in cities like Pune, Kerala, Bangalore, and Mysore.
The programs are held on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.
An Iranian preacher will also travel to India during Ramadan to deliver speeches for Iranians residing in Mumbai.
During Ramadan, the ninth month in the Islamic Hijri calendar, Muslims all over the world fast (abstain from foods and drinks) from sunrise to sunset.
They also devote a considerable amount of time during this month to reading and contemplating the Quran.
This year, Ramadan began on Saturday, May 27.
